Sonal is the Group General Counsel for Ascendion. In this role, she leads the Company’s global legal and compliance functions, providing strategic oversight for Board governance and regulatory affairs. Sonal is a seasoned professional with over twenty years of experience, including a previous tenure as General Counsel of a large, listed IT services Company. With over two decades in the technology industry, she plays a critical role in enabling responsible growth and strengthening enterprise governance at scale.

She is a recipient of multiple leadership awards and a global champion of inclusion and diversity. She is also a frequent speaker at industry conferences and a guest faculty member at IIM Bangalore. Her perspectives on IT outsourcing and governance are widely published, earning her recognition as one of India’s top General Counsels by Business World Legal for three consecutive years.

Sonal holds a BLS,LLB degree from Mumbai university and an LLM from the London School of Economics. She has also completed an executive leadership program at Cornell and the “Women on Boards” social impact development sector certification. A Cambridge Commonwealth Scholar and Gold Medalist from Government Law College, she is a committed advocate of principled legal leadership that fosters sustainable and ethical growth.
